Call to schedule. We do not offer walk-in appointments. Urgent concerns are scheduled at the earliest available time, and our Medical Assistants can triage your concern.
New patients complete a packet of forms and bring it to the first visit: patient information, medical history, notice of privacy practices and financial policy. Call the office with any questions.
If your insurance requires a referral from your Primary Care Physician, contact that office at least 10 business days before your appointment. Without a referral, you may be responsible for the visit fee.
Please give at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice incur a $25.00 charge.
During business hours, call the office to determine whether your concern is urgent. For life-threatening concerns, call 911. After hours you reach an answering service, which does not take prescription refill requests or cancellations.
Copayments are due at the time of the visit. Monthly statements are sent after insurance processes your visit. For balance questions or a payment plan, call 617-773-9805.
The practice was started more than 55 years ago by Francis P. McCarthy, MD and Philip L. McCarthy, MD, who moved it from Commonwealth Avenue in Boston to Quincy. Dr. Elise McCarthy joined in 1995 after her residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, and Dr. Darin Gogstetter joined in 2004.
Now Adams Street Dermatology Associates, the practice remains committed to thorough, patient-centered care. We are in Quincy's historic business district, near Adams National Historical Park, with parking behind the building or on the street.
